Job Description

The Associate HR Business Partner collaborates with the HRBP team to create and implement best practices in human resources, allowing Southwest to hire, motivate, reward, and retain top talent. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performance management, career coaching, supporting organizational effectiveness efforts, and assisting in the execution of the talent evaluation process.

CONTEXT/WORK ACTIVITIES:

  • Create tools, materials, and procedures to assist business leaders and HR business partners with organizational effectiveness activities (e.g. surveys, communications, presentations, etc.)
  • By collaborating with the applicable Centers of Excellence, serve as the first point of contact for Employees and Leaders with inquiries and guidance on fundamental HR themes and concerns.
  • Support talent acquisition strategies by gaining a thorough understanding of the department's recruitment plans, developing relationships with the Talent Acquisition Team, and assisting with the recruitment process, which includes developing job descriptions, participating in the interview process, and formulating offers.
  • At the guidance of HRBPs, provide assistance to employees in the areas of policy interpretation, HR processes, work-related problems, and so on, escalating to senior level HRBPs as needed.
  • Manage all program logistics (e.g., organizing meetings, preparing documents, taking notes, etc. ); compile, analyze, and validate data; and document output to assist in the execution of the yearly talent review and merit process.
  • Understanding the organization's objectives, concerns, needs, and critical success factors will help you collaborate with assigned client groups to support people initiatives.
  • Provide data and trend analysis, report authoring, research, interpretation, formatting, and problem resolution assistance to HR Business Partners (HRBP).
  • Individual contributors are coached and advised on the development of competencies and abilities required to meet employee requirements and future goals.
  • Assist with the preparation of Employee separation notices and related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons for separation. Manage performance management processes, including documenting Employee skill gaps or behavioral patterns, recommending training or developmental opportunities, and creating disciplinary letters or performance plans, as needed.
  • Assist in the investigation of employee relations issues, which includes receiving complaints, interviewing witnesses and/or evaluating supporting materials, and collaborating with Legal and HR Business Partners to determine appropriate steps.
  • At the supervision of senior level HRBPs, provide project management support for people initiatives.
  • Any physical ability requirements specified in this description must be met.
  • Other job responsibilities may be assigned by the Employee's Leaders.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a high school diploma, GED, or comparable education.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to participate.
  • The Immigration Reform Act of 1986 defines who is allowed to work in the United States.

EDUCATION:

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources or a similar discipline is required, as well as equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE IN THE WORKPLACE:

  • 2+ years of experience in a variety of human resources activities is necessary.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must keep a well-groomed appearance in accordance with established Company appearance standards.
