What you're going to do is:

  • Set a high bar and deliver exceptional in-flight service.
  • Capable of transforming problems into answers or alternatives
  • Think individually while still working as part of a group.
  • Handle a wide range of scenarios while maintaining constant interaction with the general public, both on and off the plane.
  • Without supervision, work individually and as part of a team.
  • Ensure our customers' safety and comfort
  • Deal with a wide range of emergency and non-emergency circumstances.
  • Observe all applicable regulations and workplace norms.

Physical Expectations, Physical Demands, and Working Conditions:

  • Physical exertion is required for this position, which includes pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, walking, and lifting.
  • Standing and speaking for long periods of time
  • Airport ramp operations are noisy and might be dangerous if not handled properly.
  • Extensive travel; must be able to be away from home for multiple nights and tolerate all types of weather.
  • Evenings and weekends are included in the work schedule.
  • Troubleshooting, problem-solving, complaint settlement, and conflict de-escalation are all skills she possesses.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; deliver a warm welcome to all customers.
  • While wearing the Flight Attendant uniform, you must be able to professionally represent the American Airlines brand.

Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two years of customer service experience or a college diploma is preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, make announcements, and issue emergency instructions.
  • You must be at least 20 years old to apply.
  • Must have a valid U.S. or foreign passport with all necessary VISAs.
  • Must have the legal right to travel freely to and from all American Airlines-served states and countries.
  • Throughout all phases of training and work, travel documents must remain valid.
  • To work in the United States, you must have the legal authorization to do so.
  • Ability to attend up to 6 1/2 weeks of unpaid training in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, and, if hired, move to the city to which you are assigned as a base immediately.
  • Capable of being on call and reporting for duty in your assigned base (reserve duty). Reserve duty could last for an indefinite period of time.
