The Regional Director of Wealth plays a vital role in delivering an extraordinary client experience by empowering our talented Market Director-Wealth (MD-W) and Advisors in addition to creating the right environment to bring our affluent clients a full wealth offering and access to the investment expertise from J.P. Morgan. You will be responsible for setting business and people priorities in a designated geography that drives financial results and delivers an employee and client obsessed culture. The Regional Director-Wealth oversees Market Directors-Wealth (MD-Ws) responsible for delivering results for Chase Wealth Management and partnering fully with other lines of business to grow client relationships across the Consumer Bank, Private Banking, Business Banking, Home, Auto and Credit Card to deliver One Chase to our clients.  In this role, you will drive the growth of the investment business regionally, lead and build belief in the model to achieve key, financial metrics including year over year revenue and profit growth, deepening client acquisition and expense management. 

Core responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for Regional results across a balanced scorecard of metrics including growth of investments and loans as well as client engagement, employee recruiting and retention, operational excellence, controls and compliance.  Manage performance through a disciplined cadence of field reporting and cross line of business reviews.
  • Coach/develop Market Director-Wealth on top priorities including Recruiting, Performance Management, Branch Integration, Change Management, and Professional Development. Coaching would include educating, practicing, show coaching, observing, and debriefing. Expectations include field visits, recruiting meetings, scorecard reviews & deep dives into opportunity areas
  • Create a culture of client and employee obsession by ensuring that MD-W’s and Advisors have the tools and support needed to help clients; specific focus on Client Engagement Framework, Advisor Central, and ongoing technology, product, and operating model Partner closely with Consumer Banking leaders to create a one-team approach to managing client Deposits and Investments regionally 

    This partnership may include joint management of activities such as:  investment balance growth;, First Time Investor and You-Invest trends; conducting joint interviews and selection of Market Director Wealth and Banking candidates; business practices, including having the knowledge and understanding to report systemic issues; employee development
  • Responsible for developing and executing long-term and short-term Regional growth strategies, both by acquiring new clients and by deepening existing client relationships, taking into consideration wealth footprint marketing, community engagement, talent as well as client and competitive dynamics. 
  • Responsible for attracting and retaining top talent MD-Ws including maintaining an active pipeline with recruiting meetings. Expectations include active networking, sourcing, and pipeline development with a focus on Diversity and Inclusion. As well as strong understanding of the local competitions structure, performance, culture, and offerings to assist with recruiting and industry knowledge
  • Develop and drive Advisor headcount strategies to ensure appropriate regional headcount growth
  • Develop and implement a disciplined performance and talent assessment process including setting clear performance expectations. Host Monthly Business Reviews and 1:1 with MD-Ws to ensure business execution and practice management
  • Understand market dynamics and build strategies to continue to deepen and grow client relationships
  • Strong focus on clear communications and employee engagement
    • Responsible for a hands on coaching and management of employees, and executing a large people agenda ranging across recruiting, retention, training, diversity, inclusion, performance management, career development, conduct and engagement in culture/community 
    • Set the tone of commitment to diversity and inclusion by developing strategic market plans to execute a diversity and Inclusion plan with a focus on equal distribution of opportunity and recruiting diverse talent
  • Serve as the thought leader on strategic priorities associated with the overall wealth management transformation agenda by partnering with Divisional Director-Wealth in leveraging analytics to track performance, identify trends, address issues, remove barriers to success and escalate new ideas divisionally and nationally
  • Connect with clients and the community through client events & community engagement; and playing a leadership role in the community through collaboration with JPMC Market Leadership Teams and Business Resource Groups, Culture Councils, volunteer events as well as engaging in external community partnerships
  • Lead Regional OneChase partnerships and forums to drive collaboration and deepening of client relationships across lines of business
  • Manage and serve as the decision maker during day-to-day escalations associated with Advisor Compensation, client complaints and more
  • Drive appropriate steps to maintain a culture of controls in the field to safeguard our clients and business at all times.  Ensure adherence to policy, self-identify and resolve issues, deliver satisfactory audits and comply with key policies and aprocedures (e.g. KYC and KYP)

Qualifications:

  • FINRA Series 7, 9/10 (or equivalent) and 66 (or equivalent) required within 90 days in seat, in addition to meeting FINRA continuing education requirements
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • 10+ years proven experience coaching and managing multiple layers of management preferred
    • Understands the direction of the business and industry; can articulate vision to motivate and influence others; Advanced knowledge of capital markets and product acumen, and keen interest in the financial markets
    • Ability to effectively lead, coach and manage large organizations remotely
    • Proven ability to lead through change to support culture of accepting missteps in order to achieve success
    • Innovative thinker able to drive future engagement with clients to provide exceptional experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and to proactively collaborate with all other areas of CCB
  • Ability to develop a diverse team and source and attract internal and external talent by building and maintaining personal network of contacts
  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills with experience working across all levels within an organization
  • Creates a climate in which people want to do their best; motivates and empowers others by inviting input from team and sharing ownership & visibility employees in the organization
  • Proven ability to lead through change to support culture of accepting missteps in order to achieve success
    • Ability to improve speed to execution by operating well in an ambiguous / ever –changing environment
