Job Description Summary:

Responsible for leading the development and execution of procurement strategies as a member of the Global Logistics Core team within the Cross Enterprise Procurement Group (Coca-Cola System and Bottler Network).  The role will work with key stakeholders to develop strategies for transportation service providers and spend (Ocean freight, Airfreight, Trucking, and Rail) including but not limited to inbound and outbound modes.   Develop and lead regional logistics teams to ensure implementation of global logistics procurement strategies for the Coca-Cola System.  Ensure savings is generated as appropriate.

Function Related Activities

  • Define and maintain the Global Ocean freight strategy with both Direct carriers and freight forwarding service provers for the Coca Cola system
  • Define and maintain the Global Road freight strategy identifying consolidation opportunities and driving efficiencies through carrier management
  • Manage Global Key Carrier Accounts to improve service levels, maximize cost reductions and identify new Technology offerings
  • Identify and implement best in class logistics practices on regional and global scale to drive productivity for The Coca Cola System
  • Develop and Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs to ensure scalable, best in class logistics service providers across The Coca Cola system
  • Build relationships to identify stakeholders’ priorities and understanding of their needs.
  • Provide change leadership by recognizing and responding quickly to geopolitical, market, and economic trends.
  • In conjunction with key stakeholders and category leaders, identify opportunities for and implement strategic sourcing incoterm changes.   Lead operational onboarding effort to compliment changes.
  • Develop innovative approaches to sourcing while using analytics and processes to determine scenarios, benefits, risks and change management impact of each of those options.
  • Operate in cross functional environment that spans multiple geographies with particular focus on the Latin America Region
  • Negotiate and implement global or regional master agreements that result in preferential pricing, terms and conditions for the Coca-Cola system
  • Lead regional and global sourcing initiatives using 7-step sourcing process (7SSP) to meet business requirements and maximize value to participants.
  • Develop Market Intelligence, Benchmarking, and be the subject Matter Expert of Ocean transportation within the system.

Education Requirements:  

Bachelor’s Degree required.  Graduate or master’s degree preferred.  Certification in procurement and/or project management preferred.

Related Work Experience

  • 10+ years of work experience in logistics, supply chain operations, or relevant related field.
  • Demonstrated progression at global logistics company and or FMCG company
  • Procurement Knowledge: Knowledge of procurement processes and applications to diverse categories to deliver value for the business. Includes the ability to use financial models, industry knowledge, and the client's business requirements to develop and implement optimized business solutions.
  • Working as a Global Team: Ability to work as part of a virtual global team to collaborate across geographic and organizational boundaries to deliver better business results and share best practices across a global System.
  • Data and Analytics: Ability to use data and apply robust analytics to model various business scenarios and analyze resulting cost, impact, risks, and benefits to inform and recommend business solutions.
  • Competitive Analysis: Knowledge of sources for competitive analysis including supplier and industry data to build competitive intelligence, inform business planning and optimize decision-making.
  • Contracts and Agreements: Ability to read, edit and interpret contractual documentation. Knowledge of contract terms, applications and legal requirements, including the ability to manage performance to contracts and agreements.
