Job Description

Provides positive leadership and ensures Material Stores delivers legendary customer service to the SWA Technical Operations Department. On a daily basis supervises the Material Specialists in the Store and Line environment to ensure compliance for all part shipments for AOG, MEL’s, Predraw, HAZMAT and replenishment materials and provides audit oversight. Ensures all MPM and other company policies and procedures and FAA guidelines are followed. Coordinates and communicates daily work assignments, ensures adequate staffing for all shifts, assigns overtime staffing, works within the collective bargaining agreement and established safety guidelines for Material Stores. Provides oversight for storage and distribution of aircraft parts, tooling and test equipment. Ensures a safe work environment for Material Stores Employees.

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

• Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

• May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders.

• Responsible for daily oversight of Material Stores and Line material operations.

• Oversees and problem solves issues associated with inventory accuracy, parts issuing, shipping, receiving, stocking, material   handling and equipment.

• Provides oversight of the movement of all parts and supplies to outstations.

• Responsible for warehouse operations.

• Supervises Union Employees and ensures compliance to all work rules.

• Conducts Material Stores audits.

• Develops shift schedules, approves Material Specialists time off, awards overtime.

• Oversees Material Specialists training requirements and monitors attendance.

• Experience working with labor union Employees and collective bargaining agreements is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/WORK STYLE:

• Must be a strategic thinker, innovative with strong analytical and problem solving skills,

• Must have a strong customer service approach, focused on continuous improvement in serving internal and external customers.

• Must be able to work under tight time constraints to accomplish assignments and projects, possess strong organizations skills.

• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Must have a positive attitude with the ability to motivate others using a team concept.

• Must have strong computer skills and well versed on multiple PC applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office.

• Must be able to read and understand Government Rules and Regulations.

• Must be able to accomplish multiple tasks in a timely manner,

• Must be able to coordinate and communicate with multiple departments on parts movement throughout the system.

• Must have a basic understanding of stockroom procedures and Material Stores functions.

• Basic knowledge of Supply Chain Management (Purchasing, Material Planning, Repairs).

• Basic understanding of Dangerous Goods shipping and chemical storage segregation.

• Basic knowledge of aircraft tooling and test equipment.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

• May be able to travel, work rotating shifts, and work holidays and weekends

• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by start date to comply with Executive Order 14042, which requires employees of federal contractors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
