Job Description

At McCain Foods, the Supply Chain Intern will assist the North American Supply Chain group. The Supply Chain intern will gain a broad understanding of supply chain processes and tools while working closely with one of McCain's core supply chain functions, which could include inventory management, capacity planning, demand planning, warehouse management, transportation planning, and customer service coordination.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIALS:

  • Support the supply chain teams' basic functions while searching for ways to improve them.
  • Develop a broad awareness of supply chain functions, as well as the primary tasks and responsibilities that each of these functional areas entails.
  • Participate in all available training, development, and educational opportunities.
  • Assist supply chain process improvement projects as a member of cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to inventory reduction, customer fill rate improvement, on-time performance improvement, and freight cost reduction initiatives.
  • Apply problem-solving creativity to assigned tasks; articulate insights and synthesize conclusions

Education, knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Pursuing A bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, finance, economics, or a related field is required.
  • Must be able to work with complex data and have great analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work quickly and accurately
  • Self-motivated, analytical, and independent thinker is required.
  • The emphasis is on the outcomes. Ability to synthesize various bits of information and act decisively, with a bias toward action
  • Effective oral and written communication abilities, as well as the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the business.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organization skills.
  • High proficiency with data analysis tools. Excel is a must-have, while Access is a plus.

Summer Internship Duration:

  • 3 months on average (start and end dates negotiable per school schedule)
  • A 40-hour work week is expected.
